Bella Swan’s move to Forks, a small rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious Edward Cullen, Bella’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward cares about the most.
This book was very enjoyable to read, and the movie was also very good. The style of language stephene meyer used in this book was very descriptive and detailed. By the end of the book it is very thrilling and exciting .
Read it, you will enjoy it.
RACISM, it’s a problem effecting adults but is it also taking place in schools? Racism in schools is a interesting topic, it takes place in some places more than others, It is a worldwide problem, and their are solutions. Are u racist?
Racism has become a big problem in schools, particularly in countries such as America. In Japan the subject of racism has been noticed, especially when there are foreigners in local japanese schools. The “gaikokujins” seem to stand out and get treated differently then other students in the school. I have travelled around the world in different countries but i have never been involved with racial problems, but i have noticed it more in certain countries.
In comparison, Public schools have more bullying cases then international schools as most of the students have been in contact with students from other cultures. I think racism is a bigger problem in public school’s as a majority of the student’s are local to that area but, in international schools the students are used to having friends from different races and they accept others better” replied Ron, He is half cuban and half japanese and goes to a international school. He, himself had to deal with bullying while he was in a public school. I asked Ron if he had ever been effected by racism and he replied “Yes, I have been affected by racism. I was in a public school back in America and, the more popular kids at school would call me mexican names and bully me since, I look mexican, but I am Cuban.” This shows how students bully each other because of their race.
Bullying is often a way of expressing racism and is very common amongst schools across the world. The students often get called names, verbally harassed or physically. These problems can become extremely serious causing the student to hurt themselves.
When I compared my interviews it showed that most people had the same results, of america being the most effected by bullying. In comparison, most students thought that Japan wasn’t very effected but local, public schools are slightly effected. I would have to agree that America has, a problem with racism as there are different cultures in the USA.
A majority of these problems are when, American children, bully african american children because of their race. “ I was called names and bullied badly I complained but never got any help” A african american student living abroad.
As i was researching on racism in America, i came across a group, that is said to have influenced some children to commit crimes against black people. This group was called the ku klux klan. This group has, murdered black people, burning their churches and so many more crimes.
I asked students wether they had ever bullied any other students or experienced any other students being bullied. Most answered to the first question as No, but a few said yes to the second question. Then I decided to ask myself, have i ever bullied someone about their race? have i ever seen a friend get bullied? I thought about those questions and tried to remember my past. “ I have never bullied someone because of their culture and i have never seen a friend get bullied” explains Olivia. This is the same case as me. I have grown up going to international schools so everyone accepted each other. Some accepted me more than others but their wasn’t much difference. Most friends were from different races anyway so there was no problems at all. “ I think it is very unfair to judge students on their race, color and lifestyles, it should be stopped.”
“ It isn’t just about being black or white, it’s much more”
Do i think their is a solution for racism. I would have to yes and no. I say this because there are ways to help it go away but it is likely that the students will continue behind teachers. But, that does not mean there are no solutions. You could try interactive games meaning children must communicate with each other and get to know each other. You could improve the school and get a councillor so the children can share their problems and get answers from someone who knows how to deal with these types of problems.
know each other. You could improve the school and get a councillor so the children can share their problems and get answers from someone who knows how to deal with these types of problems.
Personally, I think schools must not ignore the fact that racism is becoming a worldwide problem. Schools need someone to talk to the students and help them feel better or classes to help the students realize what they are doing. When I interviewed Donald Kingston, who works in the british council, he says that schools need to be more aware of the situation of racism.” I completely agree with what he says.
Racism we caused the problem its in our hands to stop it. We can help these children get accepted better. Do you want to help?

This book, is hilarious, sad, exciting and very enjoyable to read.
‘two weeks with the queen’, was originally written by Morris Gleitzmen but, was transformed into a play by Mary morris. The Play is about a boy, Colin’s journey to England.Colin’s brother has leukemia, and colin is determined to get help from the queen in England and he thinks her doctors could help. Colin doesn’t accept that his brother is probably going to die from the Cancer he has. Colin’s parent’s tell him that he must go to England with family he barely knows! at first Colin does not want to go to England at all, but he changes his mind, when he hears about the Queen’s doctors. Colin has a strange thought in his head that the doctors in Sydney are being ‘slack’ and are not trying their best to try cure Luke. In England Colin decides to break into the Palace with help from his cousing, Alistair. As Colin is climbing the wall of the Palace he get’s caught by one of the guards. Alistair’s parents find out and lock both of them in the house while they are out but, that doesn’t stop colin. Colin and Alistair develop strange and crazy ideas on how to cure luke’s cancer, one even being going abroad. Colin visits the cancer hospital in London, and get’s into a argument with the doctors there. In the hospital he makes a new friend, Ted. His parter, Griff has AIDS and there relationship makes Colin realize that he should be spending Luke’s last days with him. I think the play would have a different meaning if it was a book as it would be a lot more descriptive than the play.
I thought this book was very, Enjoyable to read as it is, Humourous, Sad and Exciting. I would recommend for you to read this book, you won’t be dissapointed.
In english class, we have been reading a book called ‘ Journey To Jo’burg’ by Beverley Nadoo. This book was set in the apartheid from 1948 to 1990. The book is about a African girl and her brothers Journey to save her sick sister and find her mother. He mother works in Jo’burg, she works for a rich white person in Parktown. During the Journey Naledi and Tiro experience things related to apartheid. This book taught me a lot about apartheid since, i did not know what is meant. The book made me think deeply about how apartheid had effected so many people and how badly the black were treated. In the book the characters change, and learn to stand up for what they think is right.
It amazed me that Naledi was so, brave to go all that way to save her sister. This book made me think like Naledi i also started to question freedom, it was just a word to me but this book helped me understand it. ‘ Journey to Jo’burg is a very short book although it has a lot of meaning.
This book is suitable for adults and children, as they all can relate to the themes of this book.
It was a very enjoyable book to read and i learnt, a lot from it. I would recommend for you to read
it as it is a fantastic book.

Lois Lowry
This book is short but interesting.
I found some parts of it challenging
because the themes and the book was
about world war II in Copenhagen and
i had to check what some of the words
meant in the dictionary.
[Girl goddess #9]
This book was really
good it contained alot
of different stories
inside and it took me
a while to figure that

It was challenging was
that it was complicated.
